The Dirty Henrys

Take a lot of mud, four friends hyped up on Red Bull, and a soldier we love, and this is what you get:

Saturday morning Wes, Sara, Mary and Ryan sloshed their way through the US Marine Corps Mud Run. Besides being fun, it was a small way to honor our good friend Kirk Henry who's in the Air Force and currently serving in Afghanistan.

Dylan, Katherine and I headed over after our morning run to cheer them on. They looked so clean and happy in the beginning...

...and then this happened.

The 4.2 mile course has over 30 obstacles. Not your typical roadrace, but they still finished in under an hour!

Thank goodness they had each other to hug, cause we really were not interested.

We're really proud of you guys! (High-five to Mary for breaking her thumb- hardcore.)

And we're even more proud of Kirk for serving our country. We are praying for you and can't wait till you get home in November!

  1. Thanks to you all for honoring Kirk in this way - you are obviously wonderful friends. It brought tears to my eyes that you would do this for my son - I am very proud of him and Courtney and thank God they have friends like you. Congratulations on your accomplishment! Kim Henry
